Pop Goes The 80’s to Bring an Iconic Lineup to Kansas Star Arena on September 6, 2024

MULVANE– Pop Goes The 80’s will take over Kansas Star Arena on Friday, September 6, 2024. Four iconic bands from the 80’s will come together to transport audiences including Wang ChungA Flock of SeagullsEscape Club and Naked Eyes.

London-based new wave group Wang Chung is composed of duo Nick Feldman and Jack Hues. Throughout their nearly four-decade career, the duo has composed numerous timeless hits, including the 1989 classic, “Everybody Have Fun Tonight.” Their music has been featured in countless films, video games and TV shows, solidifying their lasting influence in the industry.

Grammy Award group, A Flock of Seagulls were one of the prime movers in the 80’s new era. Consisting of lead vocals and keyboard, Mike Score and his brother Ali, Frank Maudsley and guitarist Paul Reynolds, the band hit the peak of their chart success in the early 1980’s. Their international hit singles include, “I Ran (So Far Away),” “The More You Live, the More You Love” and Grammy Award instrumental, “D.N.A.”

English pop rock band, The Escape Club, formed in 1983 and has since topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, achieved gold status in the United States and released five studio albums. The group garnered fame with their 1988 No. 1 US hit, “Wild Wild West,” and later achieved top-ten success in 1991 with “I’ll Be There.” After disbanding in 1992, the group played for the first time as a full band in 2019 during the U.S. tour Lost 80s Live.

Naked Eyes rose to prominence in the early 1980’s by Pete Bryne and bandmate Rob Fisher. Influenced by singers of the 1960’s, Pete and Rob went on to produce a cover of Burt Bacharach and Hal David’s, “Always Something There To Remind Me,” which immediately captured fan’s attention. Following their initial breakthrough hit, the duo released more music that resulted in U.S. radio airplay and maintained an almost constant presence on MTV.
